Day 1: Marrakech - Telouet - Ouarzazate

Our 6 day trip to the Sahara starts in Marrakech, we depart early after breakfast for the High Atlas, we cross the mountains via the 2260 metre high pass of Tizi n´Tichka and take the Ounila valley road to discover the Kasbah at Telouet; once a resident of the Glaoui governor of Marrakech and a magnificent example of craftsmanship. After a lunch stop, we continue along the valley to visit the famous UNESCO site of Ait Benhaddou. The night will be spent in Ouarzazate; the Hollywood of Africa.

Day 2: Ouarzazate - Draa Valley - Zagora

After breakfast, we take the road south for Agdz along the Draa Valley with its extensive palm grove and hidden kasbahs. In the town of Zagora we will stop for lunch and then in the afternoon, we will stop in Tamagroute to visit the old Quranic library, the subterranean kasbah and the pottery workshops. The night will be spent in Zagora.

Day 3: Zagora - Tazarine - Alnif - Rissani - Merzouga

After lunch we continue towards the impressive dunes of Chebbi Erg in Merzouga via the market town of Rissani. In Merzouga our camels will be waiting to take us to our desert camp in the golden dunes. Dinner and music are served up around the campfire under a star filled sky.

Day 4: Merzouga - Erfoud - Touroug - Tinjdad - Tinghir

The best time of the day is the dawn, when the sun rises and chases away the night sky, it´s a peaceful time and highly recommended. We then ride the camel’s back and have a buffet breakfast in the hotel. Our tour today starts with the journey across the desert to Erfoud; the town of fossils and minerals where workshops produce wonderful items from the fossils dug out of the mountains here. We pass the palm groves of Touroug and Tinjdad where we stop for lunch. In the afternoon we drive north for Tinghir and up into the magnificent Todra Gorge where we will stay the night.

Day 5: Tinghir - Boumalne - Dades Gorge- Rose Valley - Kelaat M’gouna - Skoura - Ouarzazate

After the breakfast you can discover this vertical world with its crystalline river, we drive down the valley where you can see the adobe Berber villages and from Tinghir we take the Dades Valley to Boumalne and up into the Dades Gorge. This rose coloured valley is unique with its strange eroded rock formations and scenic valley. We will have lunch here and then in the afternoon we return by the Dades Valley to the Kasbah of Ait Youl. From here you will take a track which crosses the Rose Valley and which carries on towards the Roses capital of Kelaat M’gouna; this is where the fragrant Damascus Rose is grown and processed into the highly prized rose oil and water.
