Cooking Class in the Berber Village of Mzik near Imlil.
Enjoy a cooking class in a traditional Berber house in the Mzik Valley near Imlil, exceptional views from this location add to the unique experience. A visit to the Asni Saturday Souk on the way from Marrakech to buy your ingredients with Mohamed whose house you will be cooking in, is quite an adventure. Mzik is located in one of the valleys that branches off from Imlil in the High Atlas below Mount Toubkal, which at 4167 meters in altitude, is North Africa´s highest peak. The valleys are terraced with cherry and apple trees, walnut groves, seasonal vegetables and animal fodder. At different times of the year the valleys are filled with either clouds of white blossoms, vibrant greens or rustic colours of the autumnal shades as leaves turn to orange and yellows.
A cooking class in this type of location is a unique experience especially combined with the scenic journey from Marrakech.
Your class will be for a maximum of 6 people and you will learn how to prepare the welcome mint tea, salad or soup, tagine or couscous and seasonal fruits.
Mzik village is accessible by track, so you may be driven, however the walk up from Imlil is wonderful and adds to the experience and immersion in the local landscape.
