Day Trek over the pass of Tizi n´Mzik.
Day Trek up to Tizi Mzik, Tizi Oussem, Tizi Oudite and back to Imlil.
This is a long day trekking over several high passes with exceptional views across valleys and peaks. From Imlil village you will take the route that winds its way up the westerly pass of Tizi Mzik: the rewards for your effort are laid out below, an incredible vista. From the pass you will traverse to the head of the Azzadene valley and down to the village of Tizi Oussem at 1900 metres. A steep climb through juniper trees brings you to Tizi Oudite at 2219 metres, where you will have a delicious picnic and take a rest. After lunch the trek continues down the valley through the Berber village of Mattat with its terraced fields and on down through walnut groves and apple orchards to Aguersioual where you can enjoy a stop for a refreshing tea by the river before continuing to Imlil. It is recommended that you stay either the previous night or the night of the trek in nearby accommodation as it is a 3 hour round trip from Marrakech and will make the day very long. It can also be separated into a 2 day trek with an overnight in a mountain gite with mule and muleteer support to carry gear and cook for you. Your guide will meet you after breakfast to start the hike.
Day Trek to Tizi n´Mzik
